DBT 12.7 Additional Information
DBT 12.7 is the latest DBT release. It features improvements in the DBT editor, accessibility, embosser support, and document importing, as well as many language updates.
- JAWS script improvements
- More flexibility in the translated line display.
- An important improvement to the Word importer.
- Several improvements to the table formatter.
- Improved handling of Nemeth Code mathematics, including a simplified processing for use in uncontracted English braille.
- New support for Cherokee, Navajo, and a Kenyan variation of Swahili braille.
- Updated support for Croation.
- Improved character handling for Arabic, Hindi, and Devanagari scripts.
- Improvements to our braille fonts and Braille-Build program.
- Important fixes for users of Braillo 650 and older Enabling Technologies embossers.
- Minor improvements to English/Unified (UEB) braille-to-print translation.
- A fix for command line processing to enable better batch processing.
- Support for 2022 updates to Danish translation rules.
- New West African translation support.
- New support for Cherokee, Navajo, and a Kenyan variation of Swahili braille.
- Major improvements to UK-style formatting of UEB documents.
- Major improvements in Japanese, Bulgarian, Slovak, Serbian, and Croatian translation.

- Import of braille files using "Orbit Reader" no longer favors uppercase. This improves subsequent braille-to-print translation.
- There is a new template "Haitian Creole". The translation is identical to French uncontracted.
- DBT can now read characters beyond U+FFFF; it supports 54 new Unicode ranges beyond this limit. These are largely ancient languages and additional Asian scripts. The most requested scripts are Cuneiform and Ugaritic. Click here for the details.
